DECEMBER 01, 2003. MIDDLETOWN, RHODE ISLAND: Family Practice chiropractors across the country are banding together this Christmas in support of the 55th annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign for needy children.

During the month of December, many of the nation’s over 60,000 chiropractors will be holding “Toys For Tots” service days in an effort to provide hope, joy and much-needed free health services for our nation’s most valuable resource- our children.

On Tuesday, December 2,2003 and Tuesday December 9, 2003 , Pruitt Chiropractic will host “Toys For Tots” days. The public is invited to attend between 3pm and 7pm and take advantage of free health and wellness information, free Initial Exams and Adjustments. New, unwrapped toys will be collected at the door December 1st – December 16, 2003. The toys will then be distributed by Rhode Island’s Toys For Tots Chapter between December 22nd and December 24th to the delight of hundreds of Newport’s children.

Last year, nearly 13,000,000 toys were collected and distributed nation-wide to over 6,000,000 children,” said Dr. Pruitt. “In view of the economic downturn, it’s just one small way that chiropractors can continue to have a “hands-on” impact on health and social needs in our community,” he said.

According to the Journal of Pediatrics, chiropractic is the most frequently sought after form of holistic health care for American children providing relief for many symptoms including allergies, respiratory distress, and sleep disorders.
